We are a holistic breeding program founded in the beautiful state of Maine in 1999. In the fall of
2005 we relocated to the tropical island of Puerto Rico. We
continue to travel to the New England frequently and welcome inquiries
from around the world. Our kennel is
named after one of our first Australian Shepherds and a mountain in
Maine, Mount Katahdin. We are the proud breeders of healthy and
correct Australian Shepherds. Here, health of the mind, body and
spirit come first.

We are a small, yet highly successful breeding program. Since our dogs are part of our
family, they live in our home, not in kennels or runs. At this
time we have five dogs that live with us and we are very fortunate to
have some wonderful people with whom we co-own dogs with, enabling us to
further our breeding program.
Our
Australian Shepherds are raised on a raw diet with minimal vaccinations
and receive holistic
healthcare. We use Herbs, Flower Essences, Homeopathy and
Chiropractic care for our dogs. We
strongly believe that the importance we place in our dogs' health and
well-being will be evident as each generation is healthier with a stronger
immune system and Life Force.
Although we put a
great deal of trust in our holistic approach, we maintain a high
understanding of the importance of genetics and their role.
Keeping that in mind, we never lose sight of the Breed Standard and responsible breeding practices.

Our Australian
Shepherds are registered with both AKC and ASCA. Our breeding stock has a
yearly eye clearance by a board certified Canine Ophthalmologist and an
OFA rating at two years of age. Our breeding stock is also DNA
profiled. We are always in constant pursuit of
current research regarding the health and genetics of the
Australian Shepherd.

We also enjoy competing with our dogs.
After our first Breed show we were hooked. Our favorite is the Breed
ring, but we have also been
successful in the performance arena as well. Our dogs are
versatile and train and compete in Agility, Conformation,
Herding, Obedience and Rally. We
have bred Conformation Champions and multiple dogs that are titled in
performance events. Several
dogs we have bred have gone on to do therapy work in nursing homes and
hospitals.
We take breeding very seriously with goals in mind and an educated plan to get there.
