We strongly believe that a solid foundation is essential in the rearing of our puppies.  Our puppies are raised in our home in a nurturing environment and socialized extensively.  Hard work and dedication goes into each puppy that is born here at Katahdin and our puppies are a part of our family.  We ask that prior to contacting us regarding current and upcoming litters, you carefully read through our website to learn more about us and our philosophy on raising dogs.




Each litter at Katahdin is well thought out and planned to combine exceptional genetics to produce sound, correct Aussies. Our puppies are raised with holistic approach as we feel very strongly about the damage that commercial dog food, yearly vaccinations and chemicals cause. 

We do prefer that our puppies go on to holistic homes that will follow our philosophy in raising healthy dogs.  If you are unsure of where to begin, please contact us and we will be more than happy to mentor you in this practice.  We promise the ultimate support in raising  your Aussie the holistic route, with their health being first and foremost. There is also a wealth of information regarding raising your Aussie the natural way on our Resources Page.

 
We interview all prospective buyers thoroughly to help us in matching you with just the right puppy for your lifestyle.  All of our puppies are placed after appropriate health checks.  All Companion puppies are sold on spay and neuter contracts with limited registration.  We do not sell dogs for the sole purpose of "breeding".  All Show and Performance prospects are sold by private treaty.  We encourage all of our puppy buyers to pursue different activities with their Aussie.


We are also adamant that if at any point you can no longer keep your puppy/dog that you contact us.  We will provide the dog with a loving home until a new home can be found.  A dog bred by us always has a home with us.
